  14. Take 1/2 tsp Salt
  15. Take 1/2 cup Coconut Oil

Be sure to use certified gluten-free oats for gluten-free apple crisp. Almond Meal or Almond Flour: Almond meal (or flour) lends some irresistible richness and flavor. You can use regular flour in place of the almond meal, if you prefer (see nut-free recipe note). Make sure you replace it both the apple mixture and the topping.

Steps to make Apple Crisp - Gluten & Dairy Free, Lower Sugar:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°, place rack in center slot
  2. Peel and cube apples. Add pineapple juice, Truvia, Molasses, Cinnamon, & Nutmeg. Stir to incorporate, set aside.
  3. In separate bowl, add crisp layer ingredients. Use hands to work coconut oil into oatmeal mixture till mixed and crumbly.
  4. Add apple layer to oiled/sprayed dutch oven.
  5. Crumble crisp layer over apples
  6. Place in a 350°F oven for approximately 35-40 minutes or until edges start to bubble up. Cool for 5 minutes, then serve as is or, add dairy free ice cream!
